Scott Anderson

Scott C. Anderson is a science journalist specializing in health and technology. When he heard about “psychobiotics” — probiotics that can improve your mood — he knew there was a book to be written. He contacted John Cryan and Ted Dinan, the scientists who coined the term psychobiotic. Over a fish and champagne dinner in Cork, they agreed to let Anderson tell their story.

John F. Cryan is Professor and Chair of the Department of Anatomy & Neuroscience, University College Cork and Principal Investigator in the APC Microbiome Institute, a leading-edge institute researching the role of microbiome in health and disease.

Ted Dinan

Ted Dinan is Professor of Psychiatry and a Principal Investigator in the APC Microbiome Institute at University College Cork. He was previously Chair of Clinical Neurosciences and Professor of Psychological Medicine at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London.
